Who it’s for

A living room that opens onto a covered outdoor space usually forces a choice: put the fireplace inside and the patio goes without, or take on two separate projects. You need one fire both spaces can see. Two separate units will warm both spaces; this one turns the wall between them into a 44-inch window of flame.

What makes it special

The fire is see-through: glass on the indoor side, glass on the outdoor side, flame in between. Dinner inside and drinks on the patio happen around the same fire, seen from both spaces—one project instead of two.

The double-glass build is Ortal’s heat-barrier design: the sealed second pane is the safety barrier that reduces the risk of burns from hot glass, which matters anywhere people walk close on their way in and out. The frameless European construction lets your tile or stone run right to the edge of the fire, and Ortal’s cool-wall design means a TV or artwork can hang above it.

The controls work the way you’d hope: set the remote to 70 and the fireplace holds the room there on its own, cycling as needed. Eco mode rocks the flame between high and low to sip gas on mild evenings, and the app puts the whole thing on your phone.
